Association Championships 2009
The event was held at Leven center and a good turn out from most off the clubs made it a well-supported event. All the clubs did well in the 12 categories and there were some surprises in the Kata and Kumite. We introduced a 2-person Team Kata event and this proved to be very popular with the clubs, a total off 8 teams entered and the standard was good despite the fact that it was the first time for some of the students. The Pee-Wee event was well covered as well, and again for most of the students this was the first time most off them had taken part in a competition of any description. We had a girl´s event this year and again the standard was good from all the students taking part, a special mention to Cadham club who took 1st and 2nd place in this event well done to the girls We had 2 categories for the junior boys this year, a special mention to Lundin Links who took 1st and 2nd place in this event well done the boys The Senior Kumite was again well supported and some extremely fast and hotly contested matches followed. Thanks to all the officials that took part in the refereeing and table officials who kept the competition running smoothly.

Thank you to all the clubs who entered the club championships your support made it a really good day and there was a good entry and a brilliant atmosphere on the day. And a special thanks to Jim Weir who once again kept the championships running well and done a good job refereeing all day. Also next year will be our tenth anniversary of Shotokan 2000 so I am looking for some ideas to celebrate. And we will be having the club competition a bit earlier in the year next time championship photos will be going on our web site.
