Picture shows Mr Jim Weir being congratulated by James Ford 6th Dan chief instructor for Shotokan2000 karate clubs. Mr Weir recently went down to Sheffield to the British Karate championships to go through his British Karate Federation (BKF) recognised referees certificate. Mr Weir went through a 2 - day course being watched by some of the top referees in Britain before he was awarded British standard. Mr Weir has been refereeing karate competitions for 20 years holding his Scottish referees certificates and is a Black Belt 3rd Dan and also runs Lundin Links Karate club. In resent years Mr Weir has been travelling up and down Britain refereeing competitions and it now makes Mr Weir the only British recognised referee in Fife, which is a massive achievement for Karate in Fife.
